Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Older Persons Community Mental Health Team based at Newtown House in Eastleigh. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Practitioner who has an interest in working with older people with mental health problems. The team aspires to deliver high quality care to our patients as well as being a supportive environment, giving all staff the opportunity for learning and development.

The supportive leadership team promote the development of our services to provide the best outcomes for our patients and we know that to achieve this we need to invest in our staff through creating a good working environment and providing extensive training opportunities. We are also open to flexible ways of working with hybrid working available.

Ability to drive and use of a car for work purpose is essential in this role.

Main duties of the job

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Carrying a Clinical Caseload
  • Contributing to the process of service user's ongoing assessment
  • Delivering community interventions
  • Formulating care plans in line with assessed need
  • Working in a manner which is helpful to the service user and the referrer, based on principles of recovery, personalisation and choice.
  • Working with individuals in the least restrictive manner possible.
