Elmwood Ward at Parklands Hospital are looking to recruit a Registered Nurse with extensive experience of working with patients diagnosed with dementia. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing exemplary care to our patients and willing to support our whole team in reaching their full potential, whilst also supporting the Ward Manager in maintaining training & supervision compliance & meeting our KPIs.
To help you achieve your full potential we pledge to facilitate successful applicants to engage in the coaching and training currently offered through the Trust's Academy of Clinical Excellence, including the Elevate Leadership Programme and will actively encourage your participation on a self-directed development journey.
The successful applicant will be expected to work flexibly across a seven-day rota to ensure full-service coverage, to be discussed further with the Ward Manager.
Main duties of the job
To provide expert clinical care, leadership, and clinical advice to support the day-to-day care delivery on Elmwood Ward. To provide specialist mental health nursing & advice for Older People with Dementia on an inpatient ward.
Providing senior nursing leadership to support the development of clinical interventions provided in the inpatient environment.
To support and facilitate colleagues in formulating individualised care plans and risk assessments.
To support the Ward Manager in ensuring the day-to-day work of the clinical team, ensuring duties are discharged safely and effectively, and clinical supervision of ward staff is supported.
To support delivery and oversight of the OPMH team's key performance indicators.
To ensure and support ward colleagues to meet quality standards for trust peer reviews, CQC inspections, and accreditation.
To provide mental health education, advice and training to clinical staff and students who work within the OPMH Dementia setting.
To work alongside the ward team in delivery of care to facilitate other's knowledge, clinical practice and highlighting/ implementing (through consultation areas of practice which may need developing to enhance the care delivery and patient outcomes on the ward.
