Job summary

The Southern Health MSK service is advertising Band 6 MSK Clinician role(s) within our Romsey team. Full time and part time applications are welcomed. The team is split over two sites and covers patients across the Romsey and Eastleigh locality. It forms part of a large MSK service which takes pride in delivering high quality care and rehabilitation. As a team member you will have access to regular clinical supervision, access to CPD funding through our ACE academy and support on your journey towards advanced practice. We are very happy to discuss flexible working options.

Working closely with primary and secondary care colleagues, the Southern Health MSK teams work to serve the local community in outpatient settings across Hampshire. Referrals are received directly from GPs and Orthopaedic Consultants as well as self-referrals from patients and Southern Health staff.

Alongside a varied MSK caseload, the successful applicant will have opportunities for leadership responsibility of band 5 staff and students. The service is committed to supporting staff who wish to work towards advanced practice accreditation and there will be ample opportunity to build and develop their portfolio against each of the four pillars.

Main duties of the job

The Southern Health MSK service benefits from a strong rehabilitation team made up of Band 3 and 4 staff who work alongside the registered staff to provide 1:1 rehabilitation and classes. All staff are able to refer into this team to maximise input and opportunity for patients.

We are committed to continued professional development and promoting evidence-based practise to ensure a high standard of care throughout the service. The MSK team benefit from an extensive professional development programme aligned against an education document. Alongside the support already mentioned, we actively support individuals that wish to pursue post-graduate study. With our orthopaedic triage team, we have developed an apprenticeship scheme that allows B6 staff to spend time with and develop clinically within a specific MSK area for a six-month period.

We would be delighted to discuss this post with you so please feel free to contact Andy Bennett (Andrew.bennett@southernhealth.nhs.uk). Alternatively call 0300 373 0212 for more information.
