Job summary
A new opportunity for a Band 5, Decontamination Manager's post has become available in Endoscopy at Lymington New Forest Hospital. This is a new role which has been developed due to the increasing demands of the service, so if you are looking for an exciting new challenge, then please come and join our amazing Endoscopy Team.
We are a JAG accredited unit consisting of 2 Endoscopy rooms undertaking diagnostic procedures, where we provide quality care for patients across the whole of the endoscopy pathway. We are currently a Monday to Friday service, open 08:00 -- 18:00.
We are developing our services as we are also a Community Diagnostic Centre allowing us to expand our workforce.

Whilst previous endoscopy decontamination experience may be advantageous it is not essential as we provide training and competency assessment. Main duties of the job
The Endoscopy Decontamination Lead will provide operational day to day management of the Endoscopy decontamination service managing a team of Decontamination Technicians and HCSW's.
The Post Holder:
*Will be managed by the Endoscopy Manager/ Endoscopy Service Lead.
*Will provide operational and endoscopy equipment management support to the Endoscopy service.
*Will coordinate and be responsible for maintaining schedules for equipment repair and renewal and support the directorate in achieving its financial saving targets by providing proactive advice.
*Will have a key focus to ensure that Decontamination services are delivered to the required standards and within the agreed budgets.
*Will develop staff through training and coaching and be actively involved in staff appraisals.
*Will require strong communication skills and the ability to develop working relationships at all levels.
*Will be accountable for the financial budgets assigned to decontamination and will be responsible for delivering set objectives within the designated business plan.
*Will ensure that resources and standards allocated to the decontamination team are properly and effectively deployed to deliver agreed outputs determined by key performance indicators.
*Will adhere to JAG Quality Standards.
*Will be responsible for contributing and delivering on quality and safety standards for the patient's and staff within the hospital in accordance with JAG quality standards.
