Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Theatre Assistant to join the team in theatre.

The job involves a high level of cleaning, maintenance and preparation of the theatre suite, as well as the safe and timely transport of patients to and from the Operating Theatre. The use of floor buffers and scrubbing machines is a requirement of the job, as is cleaning the staff restrooms and changing rooms.

The Secretary of State has approved the partnership between St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.

From 1st July we have come together as a single organisation under the name Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Cleaning and maintaining of all floor areas, including use of industrial suction cleaners, scrubbing and polishing machines, including mops and buckets.Ensuring departmental equipment and furniture is damp dusted regularly and always ready for use.

Keeping rooms clean and tidy.To act as messenger throughout the department.Delivering of pharmacy box and specimens to relevant departments.Distribution of dirty and clean laundry.Checking and changing of oxygen cylinders.Contribute to the development of services.
