Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, influential leader who is ready to make a real difference to our patient and staff experience, joining our team at Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust for a 12 month secondment into the Medical Matron role, working in the Directorate of Medicine.
We are seeking an inspirational, influential leader who is confident, dynamic, visible and wants to gain experience working at a senior level in healthcare.
The successful candidate must be a role model, demonstrating the Trust values, who will lead clinically and strategically to ensure the delivery of the best possible care to our particularly elderly population.
You must be experienced in managing governance, with an absolute passion and commitment to delivering high quality, safe care.
Main duties of the job
The role will form part of the Medicine Directorate, working alongside the Directorate Manager and Clinical Director to make up the leadership team.
The individual will join the team of Matrons and will form part of the late and weekend Matron rota, providing senior clinical support to the site and working closely with the on-call managers, clinical coordinators and on-site teams.
This role presents the opportunity to join the senior medical nursing team as a 12 month secondment, and is for those who are committed to continuously improving, adapting and trialling new innovative workforce and clinical models, to deliver a positive environment in which our staff can flourish and fundamentally to ensure excellent patient experience and outstanding care.
The individual will work in medicine, joining the clinical director and directorate manager to lead the directorate and must therefore have experience in quality improvement and governance, and will be expected to embrace and fulfil the modern matron roles and responsibilities.
