Job summary

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Practitioner to join the York and Selby Early Intervention in Psychosis team. You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team who work with people aged 14-65 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

An Associate Practitioner (AP) in an Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team provides crucial clinical support, helping people experiencing or at high risk of psychosis with practical and emotional care, like supporting daily living, managing symptoms, and assisting with recovery plans. EIP teams are multi-disciplinary services focused on early detection and intervention to prevent relapse and improve long-term recovery after a first psychotic episode.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a fast-paced community team, working within a large multidisciplinary team (including mental health nurses, social workers, support workers, IPS, family therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and Occupational Therapists) providing recovery focused interventions with service users and their families.

Managerial and clinical supervision will be provided to support the successful candidate.

There are varied opportunities for training and development, with clinical development needs being identified and monitored through appraisal.

The successful individual will need a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent to be recruited into this position on Band 4.

The successful applicant will have a big role in supporting clients to manage their physical health and well-being. This includes running a physical health clinic. Applicants with venepuncture and ECG training are encouraged to apply, however there will be varied opportunities for training and development, with clinical development needs being identified and monitored through appraisal.
