This post is not open to Newly Registered Nurses, candidates must have their NMC registration in place and successfully completed the preceptorship programme in order to be considered.

This is an opportunity for an experienced RMN to work part time (30 hours) in rehabilitation and recovery.

The Orchards is a nine bedded recovery unit for people with longer term mental health problems. It is situated near the picturesque cathedral city of Ripon. It is only 45 minutes from Leeds and York.

We aim to help people to manage and recover from mental health problems. We will encourage service users to take part in social activities and therapeutic groups to help them to learn daily living skills.The purpose of our service is to service users gain greater independence and follow a healthy lifestyle, in order to achieve a good quality of life within the community.

The unit has nine en-suite bedrooms. We aim to create a relaxed, homely and informal atmosphere. The unit is staffed twenty four hours a day by nursing staff. There is always a qualified nurse on duty.

This is an opportunity for a band 5 nurse with an interest in recovery to work within a rehab/recovery ward. As a service we are committed to developing the individual practitioner and the team. Currently we have had staff complete the NMP course, CBT courses. The trust runs a course on systemic family interventions. Staff are supported to complete this.

Main duties of the job

Promote and maintains safety, privacy, and dignity of all patients in the delivery of patient centred care, recognising and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs.Ensuring that all patients remain at the centre of decision making and are fully safeguarded.Acts, wherever applicable, in accordance with the Mental Health Act,.Ensures the highest professional standards and attitudes towards the care of patients are maintained at all times.Acts as named nurse or key worker for patients.Assesses patients' needs and develops, implements, and evaluates intervention plans as part of the multi-disciplinary team, with the involvement of the patient and where appropriate, their carer or person with parental responsibility.Ensures care plans are based on current risk assessment, evidence-based practice.Undertakes risk assessments in accordance with the Trust's Clinical Risk Assessment and Management Policy, devising and implementing actions and care plans which take the risk formulation fully into account.
