Job summary
The post holder will be employed to perform all duties outlined in the job description across various properties owned by the Trust. The role requires the ability to work independently for extended periods and includes a regular requirement to work at heights. The post holder must demonstrate a high level of competence and possess comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of decoration to effectively apply these skills as required.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will possess the ability to hang all types of wall coverings, ensuring precise pattern matching to achieve a consistently high standard of internal decoration.
They will demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH Regulations, consistently applying safe working practices to safeguard themselves, Estates staff, contractors, Trust employees, patients, and members of the public.
The post holder will be required to undertake relevant training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of new techniques and best practices in building refurbishment and decoration.
They will provide instruction, guidance, and evaluation for other craft staff and maintenance assistants in relation to the above duties and other decorative tasks, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
In addition, the post holder will liaise effectively with contractors on-site, offering specialist knowledge in decoration and refurbishment works, and will possess a clear understanding of the interrelationships between maintenance crafts to enable efficient scheduling and coordination of decoration projects.
