Job summary
The post holder is a member of a team responsible for providing catering services within a day service to service users, which will include preparing and serving food and beverages, cleaning.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Catering Assistant within Kilton View day service. The post holder will support the team with providing health and nutritious meals, which are prepared in line with speech and language guidance ( SALT), and individual dietary requirements.
Applicants should be highly motivated, reliable, flexible and have the ability to work alone and as part of a team. Experience of catering work is essential and the ability to demonstrate good culinary skills and knowledge, and associated paperwork.
Knowledge is required in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment are essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Preparing, cooking and serving of meals in line with Hygiene Codes of Practice and legislation with particular attention to quantities (portion control), quality and the appearance of meals, assisting with maintaining the highest possible standard of hygiene and health and safety and assisting with menu planning
Candidates should have a good general education.
Candidates must a minimum of Level two Food Hygiene certificate and a knowledge of allergens, as well as being able to demonstrate commitment to undertake further training and qualifications.
