Job summary

Central Durham Community Mental Health Team are looking to recruit a Band 5 Community Mental Health Nurse to cover on a fixed term basis for a period of 12 months. The post holder will join our welcoming and dedicated adult mental health team base in Kirkstone Villa on the Lanchester Road Hospital Site.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 mental health nurse to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in Central Durham. As a community mental health nurse, you will have a genuine interest in working with adults experiencing enduring and complex mental health problems including their carers and families.

As a registered professional this is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop their leadership and clinical skills within a community setting. As a core member of the team, you will support patients through the combined pathway of care focusing on recovery and improving quality of life. You will demonstrate excellent assessment skills, interpersonal, and team working skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutory and third sector agencies.

You will have an enthusiastic approach towards your own personal and professional development. In return, you will receive regular appraisal, clinical, management and caseload supervision and will benefit from the support of an experienced, committed and friendly multi-disciplinary leadership team.
