Job summary
The Duty Nurse Co-ordinator (DNC) will be based at Cross Lane Hospital in Scarborough and also cover Springwood Unit at Malton hospital. This role would include cover for two acute ADULT inpatient wards, two MHSOP inpatient wards, the local Crisis Team and the Section 136 suite.
The post will require predominantly night shift working, although there will be periods of time where day shifts will be allocated.
Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying.
Main duties of the job
Demonstrate a high level of decision-making skills and the ability to seek collective support from colleagues where required.
Professional accountability for the standards of patient care across the sites, in collaboration with the nurse in charge.
As senior clinician on site, to be responsible for the safe delivery of care in collaboration with the teams.
Responsive to incidents, staffing issues, bed pressures and unplanned care needs as required to deliver safe care and escalate any incidents to on call system as required.
Provide leadership support, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision.
To be committed to and take a lead role in activities integral to the Trust's Quality Improvement Scheme.

- Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved in 6 months.
