We are looking for two MBCT therapists to join the TEWV Mindfulness Team, which provides courses of Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and related interventions to service-users, carers and staff. Our clinical provision is across the TEWV footprint, and our staff provision covers a much broader geography. Service delivery is partly online and partly in-person. Team members work from home and travel across the area as needed.A vital aspect of the national community transformation agenda is the provision of increased access to psychological therapies in the community.One of these posts are with a 0.6wte permanent contract. The other post is a 0.6 wte 12-month fixed term contract. Main duties of the job
Our interventions are all related to Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. These include taster sessions, Mindfulness Based courses (MBCT for depression, Deeper Mindfulness, MBCT for Life, Mindfulness Based Self Compassion Programme, Introductory courses), days of practice, Drop-in sessions.
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide MBCT and related interventions to clients and carers. Clients have a broad range of presentations, including a significant proportion of complex mental health cases.
Provide specialist psychological assessment of clients with mental health conditions based on theappropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources to establish suitability for a MBCT and recommending alternative treatment or interventions as appropriate.
Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for individual clients, carers and staff.
Formulates plans for MBCT and related interventions that are based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice. Collaborates on the development and the implementation of such plans with clients and significant others as appropriate.
Staff Mindfulness Provision
Provide a range of MBCT-related interventions to staff working in health and social care. Staff members attend the service for a variety of reasons and have a broad range of needs, some of which are in the clinical range.
Work closely with the Staff Mindfulness Lead to promote, plan and evaluate interventions for staff.
