Perinatal Senior Community Practitioner

Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Senior Perinatal Community Practitioner to join our specialist perinatal mental health team in York. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person centred care to women and birthing people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties during the perinatal period (from pregnancy to the baby's first year)

Candidate must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver specialist assessments and interventions in a community setting.
  • Work collaboratively with maternity services, health visitors, GPs, social care and voluntary sector organisations.
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement and training initiatives.
  • Ensure trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and inclusive care.
