Are you interested in a career in the field of eating disorders? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Dietitian to join our innovative service which supports young people and their families in the management of and recovery from Eating Disorders.
We are looking to recruit a Band 6 CAMHS Eating Disorders Specialist Dietitian into our friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will work alongside the Lead Dietitian and Specialist Dietitian who currently provide input to the North Yorkshire and York Eating Disorders Service .
The Eating Disorder Service operates across North Yorkshire and York; the post holder will be based in Orca House, York although will work across the locality including at Dragon Parade Clinic, Harrogate , and will provide a dietetic service to the North Yorkshire and York area, with the multidisciplinary Eating Disorders Team. Travel costs included.
Candidates should be a registered Dietitian with significant experience in Dietetics, including experience working with service users with mental illness and/ or learning disabilities and complex needs, preferably eating disorders. They should have excellent communication and IT skills. A working knowledge of motivational interviewing would be desirable. Supervision will be provided and there will be a strong emphasis on Continued Professional Development and specialist training.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dietitian who will provide a high quality, evidence based up to date nutrition and Dietetic service to young people who are experiencing eating disorders.
The post holder will be expected to support young people across the whole of the multi-racial and multi-cultural community of North Yorkshire and York with demonstrable values and commitment to diversity and anti-discriminatory practice in line with Trust Values and Behaviours. The successful applicant will lead by positive example in promoting these as well as being passionate about promoting the wellbeing of the young people and families we support, colleagues and themselves.
As someone who will be a key member of a number of CAMHS multi-disciplinary teams, the candidate will be innovative in their approach to providing wider nutritional education which will include training of staff, delivery of group sessions and development of resources. The service also embraces a culture of service user participation and works closely with the local communities to enhance the clinical offer. The successful candidate will be passionate about establishing key relationships with our partners in Acute Trusts and other important stakeholders.
We have a robust clinical and management supervision structure as well as speciality supervision with the wider dietetic team. It is expected that the post holder attends regular supervision.
