Job summary

Selby CAMHS is delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our neurodevelopmental pathway within Selby CAMHS.

Selby CAMHS supports young people across Selby, Tadcaster and Pocklington. The service is commissioned to undertake Autism Spectrum Condition diagnostic assessments for young people under the age of 18. We are also commissioned to undertake diagnostic assessments for ADHD, and post-diagnostic support. We have a multi-disciplinary team working across these pathways.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).

The successful candidates who do not have the required qualifications will be expected to enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework which will include the acquisition of the level 2 Diploma Health and Social Care, level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent and achievement of competencies. You will have a maximum of 2 years to complete this.

The successful candidate will play an active role within the pathways. As examples they will undertake school based observations, physical health checks and support observational assessments in collaboration with other professionals. They will join MDT discussions to review the assessment findings within the pathway.

The post holder will support the coordination of the pathway, including audit and evaluation. They will also take a proactive role in promoting young people and family/carer involvement with the service, promoting involvement and collaboration wherever possible.

Most of the role will be clinic based, working from Selby CAMHS at Worsley Court. However, the successful candidate will be able to drive to schools and other sites within North Yorkshire and York as required.
