Job summary

The post holder will work within the service Senior Leadership Team to support the delivery of talking therapies for anxiety and depression in the Durham and Darlington locality. They will lead a team, working closely with the senior therapist to ensure high quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

Management of the team, including all HR processes and planning capacity and demand.

Support the service manager and clinical lead to achieve KPIs for wait times and recovery.

Work collectively as part of the Local Leadership Team.

Work as part of the operational management team under the service manager.

Ensure the performance management of the team through leading leadership supervisions and appraisals.

Be familiar with policies and procedures relating to staff management - e.g. attendance, performance management, etc.

Building relationships with other teams and organisations to ensure seamless flow of patient care.

Ensure administration processes are in place to support the work of the team

About us

NHS Durham & Darlington Talking Therapies is a well-established service and has been providing psychological interventions to those residing in the County Durham and Darlington area since 2010. We are a joint venture of three experienced local and national providers of psychological therapies with a strong track record of success. It is led by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with Mental Health Matters (MHM) and Sunderland Counselling Service (SCS).

The service has continued to develop new and innovative ways of supporting those patients presenting with common mental health difficulties, forming strong links with other supporting services in the area.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Post Graduate Diploma in leadership or a subject area relevant to the area of practice or be willing to work towards and achieve within the first 2 years
  • And - Hold a relevant degree (or degree equivalent) and have equivalent experience to that of Post Graduate Diploma level such as significant experience of working as a band 6 ( or equivalent Band 6 or above) experience as outlined below
  • Significant experience of operational management (including leading and managing people, performance and service development)
  • Working collaboratively with others
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Evidence of delivering management supervision
  • Developing, maintaining and auditing standards of practice
  • Quality Improvement activities
  • Inter-agency and partnership working
