Job summary
The Adult Eating Disorder services are seeking to appoint a Specialist Clinical Lead who will support the development of Adult Eating Disorders within Durham, Darlington and Teesside as well as having a key role is supporting pathways across the Trust. The successful post holder must have significant experience at a senior professional level working with individuals with an eating disorder and be an approved clinician. The post holder must also have experience of improving services, pathways and successfully worked alongside internal and external stakeholders to enhance the service offered to service users.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to (not exhaustive):
- Deliver high quality patient care,including providing highly specialist assessment of clients with highly complex, severe and enduring conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of source
- Delivering the core competencies of an Approved Clinician in relation to having a comprehensive understanding of the key function of the Approved Clinician and Responsible Clinician role, and applied knowledge of the legal policy frameworks, assessment, treatment, care planning multi-disciplinary team leadership, equality and diversity and communication
- Lead the multi-disciplinary care team in the development and implementation of multi-disciplinary care plans
- Accountable for own professional practice as a Consultant practitioner in the area of Eating Disorders with highly complex mental health conditions.. Care can be delivered in various settings e.g., acute trust wards, GP surgeries, other community settings etc
- Undertake risk assessment and risk management and provide highly specialist advice to other professionals on aspects of risk assessment and risk management and the high physical risks inherent in the client group
- Lead in the development, monitoring and evaluation of service improvements in own area and on multidisciplinary teams across the locality (Durham Darlington and Teesside) and support the development of Adult Eating Disorder services across the Trust

- Working as a specialist, qualified senior clinician within the designated clinical specialist area and service, including a wide variety of client groups, across the lifespan and a range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
