The Community Rehabilitation and Recovery team offers a fantastic opportunity for a registered mental health nurse or a learning disability nurse to join a busy and dynamic team, having recently expanded it is a very exciting time to work in rehabilitation services within TEWV.

The role will involve looking at the individual needs of the service users and creating a bespoke care package around them. Effectively liaising with referring agents will be crucial within your role. The role will involve working as part of multi-disciplinary team supporting service users in achieving their individual recovery goals and delivering interventions to support service users to enable them to do this.

Main duties of the job

It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills as the ability to foster close working relationships with all appropriate agencies and networks in the field of Mental Health, locally, regionally and nationally will be required.

You will have the opportunity to work within a supportive and enthusiastic team. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisation and communication skills, having the ability to work on their own initiative and be able to communicate with internal and external agencies relevant to patient care. You must be able to demonstrate best practice in community mental health service delivery.

Essential

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
  • Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 12 months experience post completion of preceptorship experience working with people with mental ill health, Autism or Learning Disability in a care environment.
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
  • Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate.
  • Supervising or assessing students on practice placement.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Quality improvement activities

Desirable

  • Working in the community with patients with mental health conditions

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
  • Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
