Job summary

This is an exciting time to join the PMO as a Project Management Officer to support the realisation of our Strategic Journeys and Our Journey to Change.

This is a full time 1.0WTE role suitable for someone who wishes to work in a transformation Project Support role.

As a Project Management Officer in the PMO, you will be central to helping the team as it delivers the TEWV transformation portfolio. The role works directly for the Head of PMO and helps project and programme managers in carrying out their roles of delivering strategic change. Coordination of reporting, supporting programme boards and project groups, helping set up project documentation, supporting broader colleagues across the Trust in the PMO Community of Practice are just a handful of the varied tasks in this dynamic role. You will be supported by PMO colleagues including project and programme managers in successfully carrying out your responsibilities.

You may be interested in developing as a future Project Manager, whilst it is desirable that you have a project management qualification, if you do not, we will be asking the successful candidate to undertake a PRINCE2 course when you start the role.

Main duties of the job

As a Project Management Officer within our PMO you will responsible for managing the inner workings of the PMO which contribute to the delivery of our strategy.This will include providing administrative support to projects and programmes overseen by the PMO. Preparing project documentation, coordinating reporting , supporting project and programme managers and the Head of PMO where required. These projects may be Trust-wide or concentrated in a particular Care Group.

Your experience of administration or project support may be from the NHS, TEWV, in the public or private sector. You will be experienced in coordinating key information for multiple senior colleagues. You will have an understanding of project and programme management and the importance of good governance. You will be experienced in preparing data and reports for Senior colleagues, SROs, EDG such as for Programme Boards. You will need to be supportive of operational managers and project managers based in our other corporate or operations teams. You will understand Our Journey to Change strategy and be able to build up credibility with stakeholders ranging from clinicians, commissioners, service users, carers and local authorities. You will implement processes in a way which is mindful of the challenges, capacity and culture in our organisation. You will be able to adapt swiftly as organisational priorities change, including changes to processes and roll out of new ways of working.

About us

The TEWV PMO team was formed in September 2021. The Head of PMO has established a supportive working environment which values the equal contribution of all team members regardless of band or role.

As a member of the PMO you will be supported greatly by colleagues within the team as well as being able to access advice, guidance and training via the Programme and Project 'Community of Practice' set up by the PMO in late 2021.

The staff in the PMO have hybrid working, which includes working from home as well as coming on-site where programme and project meetings require. We have bi-weekly meetings as well as protected time for urgent collaboration, so colleagues know they can get support from team members to overcome any issues they may face.
