An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of a joint approach between TEWV and South Tees Public Health working collaboratively with We Are With You (Redcar and Cleveland) and Accessing Change Together (Middlesbrough) to support people affected by co-existing mental health and substance use issues. This post is a new initiative aligned within Community Transformation and will involve working primarily with individuals experiencing mental health concerns as well as using drugs and/or alcohol
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to support the implementation of the Dual Diagnosis Strategy across both Adult Mental Health and Substance Misuse Services across South Tees area. The post holder will provide an outreach role and work alongside mental health and recovery services within South Tees locality.
This transformative approach aims to improve sharing of information between services supporting individuals in a holistic approach whilst working in a joint and more flexible way to meet increasing demands for community mental health care and addiction.
Main duties of the job
- The assessment and delivery of evidenced based interventions and treatment for adults who have Dual Diagnosis
- Recovery focused evidenced based interventions
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Meet the health and social care needs of patients within the team
- Work closely with patients, carers and families to co-produce care

About us
With a current professional registration with an approved professional body and experience of working with substance misuse services you will support the Link Worker in a multi-agency response to services users challenged by substance misuse and mental health issues.
You will provide an expert role across Adult Mental Health and Substance Misuse services in South Tees to deliver therapeutic evidenced based practice to complex dual diagnosis patients through a developed network of leads. You will support ongoing work in partnership with local substance misuse providers and voluntary agencies and support the development of education and training across South tees area within a defined budget, supported by national and local guidance.
