Job summary
The MHSOP Harrogate Crisis Home Treatment Team is seeking a skilled, qualified clinician to join a welcoming, committed and professional team.
This post is being advertised to address a temporary need of 12 months .
The team operates 8.00 - 20.00, 7 days a week: delivering safe, effective and quality interventions to persons presenting in crisis or with significant acute mental health needs that require intensive treatment to avoid crisis and / or hospital admission. The team is also responsible for gate keeping admissions to the acute admission ward as well as bed management.
Nursing applicants should already hold NMC registration and have successfully completed their preceptorship programme. Please note: Newly qualified Nurses or those due to qualify will be recruited via a separate process.
This post is being advertised to address a temporary need however the Trust has made the commitment to offer Registered Nurses a permanent contract with the Trust. In the event that the need for this post ends, a suitable alternative post will be offered (this does not apply to other registered professions). Applicants should be aware that alternatives may require some flexibility on role and/or location.
Main duties of the job
The team primarily works with persons over the age of 65 years however adults with cognitive needs or early onset diagnosis are also welcomed.
The team takes a recovery orientated approach which values shared decision making: across the team, with patients, families, carers and other community and mental health services who may be involved.
Applicants should be highly motivated, have the ability to act on own initiative and have sound assessment and written skills.
A good working knowledge of mental health diagnosis, presentations and risk is essential to this post.
Both informal and formal education and learning pathways exist within the team which allows clinicians to deliver high standards of relevant and effective clinical care.You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team and there is ample opportunity to develop and enhance your existing clinical skills. You will receive regular supervision and there are good training opportunities.
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical leadership of more junior members of the team, prioritising workload and utilising resources appropriately to ensure that service user needs are met.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010
