An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team working with people who have learning disabilities.
This is a great development opportunity for both experienced Band 5 staff who want to experience added responsibility, and existing Band 6 staff who wish to broaden their knowledge further in an alternate service area.
Main duties of the job
As a specialist occupational therapist working within the Adult Learning Disability Health Team you will work closely alongside the multi-disciplinary team as well as managing a complex caseload independently. This role requires you to complete assessments of occupational performance/functioning and delivering specialist occupational interventions to our clients with learning disabilities.

Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
- Registration with HCPC
- Successful completion of preceptorship year as a graduate occupational therapist (or equivalent in non-NHS sectors)
- Clinical Supervisory Skills course (or willingness to undertake within agreed timescale).
- Trust training in Appraisal and Recruitment (or willingness to undertake within an agreed timescale)
- Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Accredited Practice Placement Educator (APPLE)
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area.
Experience
Essential
