Job summary

Are you a nurse that would like utilise your leadership skills and knowledge whilst working predominantly a night shift pattern?

We are looking to recruit a band 6 Clinical Lead to join our forward thinking and developing team on Springwood Unit in Malton.

The team on Springwood are highly skilled and experienced with a profound understanding of Dementia care. Springwood is an acute assessment and treatment unit specialising in working in acute Dementia and the complex physical healthcare needs that are often associated with a Dementia diagnoses.

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to join our multi-Disciplinary team consisting of Consultant Psychiatrist, RMNs, Occupational therapy, SLT, Physiotherapist's, Psychologist, Physical Health Nurse Practitioner & Dietetics. All these roles have progression pathways and support Continued professional development.

Main duties of the job

As the Clinical Lead you would be expected to have excellent leadership and organisational skills, work closely with a variety of different professional teams across North Yorkshire and the wider organisation, develop and mentor staff within your team and work alongside the Ward Manager ensuring that the ward continues to provide the highest standards of care. We will support you by offering regular supervision, training opportunities and encourage your development and role within this developing team on the delivery of Patient Centred Care, support for carers and evidence based practice.

Essential

  • RNMH/RNLD, current professional registration with NMC
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education.
  • Recognised sign-off mentor or willingness to work towards. Must be achieved within agreed timescale
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience working with people with mental ill health and/or learning disabilities in an inpatient or community environment.
  • Providing clinical supervision.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
