Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Health Care Assistant/Trainee into our team on Oak Ward, West Park Hospital.
We have recognised that our patients needs have changed in light of the ongoing pandemic, and we are in a position to reflect this in our staffing numbers to continue to provide excellent care.
Our ward is an acute assessment wards for people aged 65 years and older who are experiencing functional mental illness, many of which are supported home on their discharge from the ward.
The successful candidate would be expected to work across a 24hr shift pattern 37.5hrs a week.

Main duties of the job
To provide direct patient care and maintain patients safety whilst they are on the inpatient wards.
The successful candidate must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).
The successful candidates who do not have the required qualifications will be expected to enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework which will include the acquisition of the level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care, level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent and achievement of competencies. You will have a maximum of 2 years to complete this.
