Job summary
TEWV is developing a forward thinking nursing visions and robust defined career pathways. As an RN in the service you will contribute to the integrated approach to delivery of excellent service to improve both mental and physical health needs with particular focus on frailty and dementia. As an RMN you would be responsible for the day to day running of the ward, an RN will be responsible for the day to day running of the ward dependent on experience and with an RMN also on duty.
A flexible approach is required as these posts involve working a 24 hour shift pattern, covering both day shift and night shift covering 7 days a week.
Main duties of the job
Wold View ward is an acute assessment ward for people aged 65 years and older who are experiencing dementia, or organic mental health illnesses.
We have a multi-disciplinary inpatient team including nurses, medical staff, a physical health care practitioner, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychology. There is local access to nutrition and dietetic staff within MHSOP. We work in partnership with local Community Teams and our Care Home Liaison Team
Daily MDT report outs and discussions aid the holistic approach to our care on Wold View and contribute to the effective treatment and management of each patient, whilst considering discharge planning throughout their in-patient journey.
