Job summary

We are looking to develop a dual diagnosis post that will work collaboratively between START (Supporting Treatment and Recovery Together) and Tees Esk and Wear Valley mental health services. The post will primarily work with individuals who are experiencing secondary mental health concerns, as well as using drugs and/or alcohol.

This post is being advertised to address a temporary need of 18 months however the Trust has made the commitment to offer Registered Nurses a permanent contract with the Trust. In the event that the need for this post ends, a suitable alternative post will be offered at the same band (this does not apply to other registered professions). Applicants should be aware that alternatives may require some flexibility on role and/or location.

Main duties of the job

  • The assessment and delivery of evidenced based interventions and treatment for adults who have a dual diagnosis
  • Recovery focused evidence based intervention
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with excellent support from senior members and leadership.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet the health and social care needs of patients within the team.
  • Work closely with patients, carers and families to co-produce care.

In return you will have access to fantastic training & development opportunities. Post-grad qualifications can be supported throughout your career pathway in mental health practice, as well as clinical skills or leadership & management skills, that can lead onto more senior roles within the organisation.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. A lease car scheme is in operation as well as other NHS staff benefits.

About us

We want you to be part of Our Journey to Change. This is our vision for where we want to be in five years' time - it explains why we do what we do, the kind of organisation we want to be and the three big goals we're committing to over the next five years.

It's the result of our biggest ever listening exercise and really importantly it's been co-created with staff, patients, carers and partners.

What do we want to achieve?

We want people to lead their best possible lives.

Ourvalues

The most important way we will get there is by living our values all of the time. These are:

Our big goals

We are committed to three big goals:

  • To co-create a great experience for our patients, carers and families.
  • To co-create a great experience for our colleagues
  • To be a great partner
