Job summary
An opportunity has a been made available for 1vx band 6 mental health nurse to work within the older person's mental health team.
The post will be based at Woodside Resource Centre in Middlesbrough.
The service provides assessment and treatment for those over the age of 65 or with a physical frailty who require input from secondary mental health services.
The service also provides assessment and (if indicated) treatment for potential neurodegenerative disease / dementia - some of whom may be under 65.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake sessions both within clinical environments and individual service users own homes. As such, it is essential the post holder is capable of independent travel.
We feel this is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop specialist skills, supporting people who experience brain changes.
About us
You will work as part of a wider MDT including consultant psychiatrists, psychology and OT. We aim to promote a team which is compassionate and has a fair team ethic.
We provide bespoke education sessions into the team monthly to promote continued development and currently offer a hybrid way of working with a work from home day allocated weekly (service need allowing).

Qualifications
Essential
- RNMH, current professional registration with NMC.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
- MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education.
- Clinical Supervisor.
- Recognised sign-off mentor or must be achieved within agreed timescale.
Desirable
- Leadership or management qualification
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area
- Non-medical prescriber
Experience

- Post-qualification experience of working in community team
- Previous experience of working within an MDT
