Job summary

To support the Community CAMHS team and improve the care of children and young people with complex emotional needs.

  • 1x 0.9 position for Harrogate Community CAMHS

It is an essential requirement of this post to have demonstrable experience of working with children and young people with complex emotional needs and knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, DBT, family interventions or CBT . It would be desirable to be trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) or Multi-systemic Therapy (MST) and have knowledge of supporting young people with neurological conditions..

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be assessing children and young peoples needs and offering interventions to support them in the community.

You will supervise other members of the team, and deliver training sessions to the team.

You will promote positive attitudes towards service users with complex needs, to maintain responsive and non-stigmatising services.

Education/Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Registration with relevant professional body. (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC, Social Work-England)
  • Trained in providing clinical supervision
  • For other professions - evidence of training in clinical supervision of other staff and able to demonstrate competence in this area of practice in clinical supervision of other staff and/or students/ trainees.
  • Substantial clinical experience of working in relevant specialist area in collaboration with service users, families and relevant others or transferable experience of similar settings and willing to gain knowledge within first 12 months.
  • Experience of assessing and managing risk (harm to self, others and safeguarding)
  • Substantial experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Specific therapeutic treatment modality e.g. systemic practice/DBT/CBT
  • Leadership Qualification

  • Relevant experience within a Mental Health Service specialty.
