We have a rare opportunity for Community Support Workers to join the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Crisis Resolution & Home Based Treatment Team based at Cross Lane Hospital in Scarborough.
The successful candidates will be part of a resilient, welcoming and supportive team.
You will receive regular appraisal, clinical and management supervision and will benefit from the support of an experienced and committed multi-disciplinary team.
There will be opportunities to undertake further training and development.
This post is not open to Trainees the successful candidates must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, supporting service users over the age of 18 in the community as an alternative to hospital admission.
The role will also involve supporting service users of all ages within the Health Based Place of Safety whilst awaiting assessment under the Mental Health Act and also screening & managing calls from service users and carers received on the Trust All Age Crisis Line.

Job responsibilities
To improve the lives of people with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and well being.
To assist in the immediate management of patients presenting in crisis and in the delivery of on-going patient care as directed by the crisis clinician / clinical lead or crisis nurse, undertaking duties and activities with limited or indirect supervision in patients homes, other community settings or hospital, covering a 7 day service.
May be the first point of contact for all TEWV on-call referrals during the night.
Undertakes delegated activities in relation to on-going, short term care / home treatment, within level of own competency and with due regard to risk assessment, to assist with the implementation of intervention plans as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Patients have a range of mental health conditions, may demonstrate behaviours that challenge and may have difficult family situations of relevance.
Carries out venepuncture as required, if trained.
May be required to take and accurately record and report physiologicalobservations (e.g. weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse).
May be responsible for the safe transportation and administration of medicines in accordance with Trust policy, legal requirements and NMC guidance, where applicable.
