Job summary
Following new investment, we are excited to be offering a Community Support Workers post within the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Community Service North Yorkshire and York. This post will cover the Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire area with the successful candidate being based at either Windsor House, Harrogate or North Moor House, Northallerton.
We are a specialist service that strives to deliver excellent standards of care to expectant and new mothers with severe and complex mental health problems. We are looking for a highly motivated community support workers with an interest in perinatal mental health, however further specialist training and supervision will be provided to the successful candidates. An ability to work flexibly and independently around the needs of our families is a priority.
You will receive regular appraisal, clinical and management supervision and will benefit from the support of an experienced and committed multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent or be willing to work towards it. Candidates must also have literacy and numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Health Care Assistant competencies within the first year. Internal staff must have completed the full framework before they can apply. This post is also open to trainees.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will work as a member of the community perinatal multi-disciplinary team providing a service to women & families experiencing mental health difficulties in pregnancy and up to 1 year postnatal.
You will be a valuable part of the service and support needs for woman and families, working with a supportive team of nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, peer support workers, nursery nurses and psychologists.
The post will include supporting woman with the physical health monitoring, Including physiological observations, venepuncture and ECGs as required, when trained.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
