Job summary
To provide specialist system support to maintain and develop the Trust's Data Centres and associated technologies. This includes monitoring and maintaining the Trust server infrastructure, its environment, associated systems. Ensuring that they are up to date with patches and backups are routinely taken.
To lead on new developments relating to data centre technologies, ensuring that they are introduced safely and securely, with minimised impact to existing technologies and end users.
To promote a data quality culture throughout the organisation to ensure accurate, complete and up to date information is available from patient information systems to support decision making and management.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two, 3rd line server infrastructure engineers to join our busy Technology Development and Data Centre team. The team are responsible for supporting and developing a wide array of technologies. Because of the wide range of technologies employed we would be interested in candidates who perhaps have a strong skill-set in a number of areas but are interested in increasing their experience across a broader range of technologies.
You will need to have strong knowledge and experience of implementing, managing and monitoring data centre technologies such as VMWare Vsphere, Windows Server, Patch Management, SCCM, Active Directory etc.
The team manage other technologies such as Vmware Horizon VDI, Vmware NSX, Netapp Storage, Imprivata, SQL Server, Always On VPN, Patch Manager to name but a few.
It would be advantageous if the candidate had a good understanding of networks to provide a foundation to support the enterprise infrastructure the team are responsible for.
