An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Intelligence & Clinical Outcomes Section of the Digital & Data Services Department to recruit a permanent, full time Band 6 ETL Systems Developer. The post is based at Flatts Lane Centre, Normanby, however, the Trust endorses a flexible working model that fully facilitates a blended approach to remote and on-site working
This post will work as part of the Trust's Integrated Information Centre (IIC) team and will have responsibility to support with the design, development, documentation and delivery of Trust wide data warehouse and BI solutions.
For this, we are seeking a customer focused individual with the appropriate technical and analytical knowledge to undertake this key role within the Trust and the successful candidate will have a background in system development, with demonstrable, practical skills in relation to BI systems and associated technologies. The post holder will work with internal and external customers and 3rd party system suppliers to maintain, expand, and improve our BI systems data warehouse (the IIC) for the collection, analysis, validation, presentation, and reporting of activity to ensure that Trust income and resources are effectively managed, and the best possible patient care is achieved.
Main duties of the job
Essential skills & experience required include:
- Excellent communication and customer management skills
- Knowledge and experience of change management process, system upgrade paths, data warehouse development lifecycle, Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques, development, and deployment of ETL processes to support Key Performance Indicators within a health care setting and an advanced knowledge of ETL processes using IBM InfoSphere DataStage & DataStudio tools
In role, the post holder will be expected to:
- Actively contribute and engage with the IIC Team Agile sprint process to support the delivery of an effective service to our customers.
- Support the development lifecycle of the Trust's dashboards and reports, working with customers, developers and end users to plan, develop and deploy products and features to meet user requirements
- Gather, define and document user requirements that are clear, concise and testable; to translate those requirements to a plan of work that can be understood and implemented by the development team ensuring the development meets the objectives and needs of the customer.
- Provide specialist support for all Trust-wide IIC Systems including co- producing detailed technical design documentation proposals for change controls, supplier upgrade paths and development proposals.
- Assist in providing a systematic and modern approach to the use of information and its associated technology, ensuring that Trust staff gain maximum benefit from its use.
