Job summary

There is an exciting opportunity to join the mental health team at HMP Lancaster Farms.

HMP Lancaster Farms is a category C male adult prison situated on the outskirts of the city of Lancaster.

This vacancy is open to Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse's interested in working in a prison environment. This is a band 5 developmental post with progression to a band 6 upon meeting the criteria within the Band 6 job description.

Newly qualified Nurses are welcomed to apply for this vacancy.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to be; innovative, flexible and able to engage clients with complex needs. Strong team working principles are essential and you will network with a variety of people as well as work in partnership with a range of different agencies both internal and external to the prison.

This is the opportunity to develop skills and work in a difficult but rewarding environment where you will get to practice a full range of psychiatric nursing interventions, working as both part of a team and working towards being an autonomous practitioner.

  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

Experience
