Job summary
The Durham (Covid) Resilience Team is looking to appoint a Principal Applied Psychologist. This is a permanent full time position working 3 days in the Durham (Covid) Resilience Team and 2 days working in the Stanley/Consett Mental Health Adult Community Team. Following wider community transformation, the role has scope to become full time linked to a Primary Community Mental Health Team.
This is an excellent opportunity to build experience in clinical supervision, professional supervision, collective leadership and service improvement. The team was set up during covid to support the Durham population and frontline workers in relation to the pandemic. The team is transitioning into a wider resilience service, embedding in wider community mental health transformation for adults of all ages. The post holder will work for Tees Esk and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with Pioneering Care Partnership and a range of voluntary sector organisations across County Durham.

Main duties of the job
The applicant will have significant experience of working psychologically with people who experience mental health problems and competencies in evidence based psychological interventions and therapy. They will contribute to the collective clinical leadership of the service. They will be responsible for the provision of psychological assessment, formulation, training, delivery of evidence based psychological interventions and provide clinical supervision. They will supervise the two Assistant Psychologists in the team and support the reporting of outcomes. The post holders will contribute to service development .
Applicants will be required to have post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS and be registered in as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC. Significant experience and competencies in delivering and supervising evidence based psychological intervention for Psychosis is also essential.

About us
The Durham (Covid) Resilience Team employs resiliency workers, project leads, a principal psychologist and assistant psychologists. There are further developments to recruit to a Health Living Advisor and Occupational Therapy. The post holder will work within a multi-agency service in partnership with voluntary sector organisations across County Durham coordinated by Pioneering Care Partnership and the team is keen to continue to develop their psychological thinking and working.
