This is a cross site post between the North Tees and the Hartlepool sites, however most time will be spent at North Tees.
You may be expected to work at any UHT site from time to time
The post requires the post holder to have knowledge and understanding of cardiology diagnostic patient pathways in order to appropriately book a wide range of diagnostic cardiac investigations and procedures following in house training.
Ability to be deliver all reception duties is also a requirement of the role, following the appropriate training.
Main duties of the job
To provide all aspects of clerical support to the multi-professional team to facilitate the safe, efficient and smooth service to the patient. To act as a team member performing support duties across the whole range of disciplines within the unit.
To provide administration processes and organise appointments and patient letters for diagnostic cardiac tests procedures, using appropriate appointment systems such as TRAK ICE and CRIS.
Make appointments via the Cardiology booking Office (CARBO)
Manage relevant incoming and outgoing post and emails. Manage incoming referrals via ICE, post or direct cardiologist referral.
To work closely with clinical staff, assisting staff and patients as required.
To ensure the reception is covered in peak times and all enquiries and left messages are followed up in a timely and professional manner.
Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients and all staff within the unit, trust and to liaise with GP's practices as required.
Request patient information, access electronic notes or paper notes where appropriate and filing prior to and following investigations.
Manage patient enquiries with sensitivity and knowledge, referring to clinical staff when required.
