An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, organized and motivated Clinical Trials Assistant to work with our Research Team. The successful candidate must be able to work within the team but also independently and will be required to provide holiday and sickness cover for other Clinical Trials Assistants as the need arises.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will undertake the data management of a number of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio studies.
Responsibilities of the post include research administrative support, including the coordination and set up of new clinical trials and ensure the accurate collection and recording of patient data into the trial case report forms. This will include, but not limited to: maintenance of the R&D Local Portfolio Management System database to reflect all research recruitment, maintenance of recruitment trackers, collection of patient data, obtaining patient notes, setting up site files for studies, maintaining site files, data entry, sending data or samples to trials teams, assistance with monitoring visits and site initiation visits.

The post holder will be a member of the Cross Speciality Research Team and will be responsible for supporting the research staff within the team. The post holder will initially work within the Emergency Department, Stroke and Medical Research Team. Responsibilities of the post include research administrative support, including the co-ordination and set up of new clinical trials and to ensure the accurate collection and recording of patient data into the trial case report forms. The post is based within North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust however, the post holder may be required to travel and work at other Hospital sites involved with NIHR trials in the research network if required.
Applicants should have excellent organisational and communication skills and be skilled in MS Office and databases. Attention to detail is essential.
