Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine.
The successful applicant will contribute to the well-respected Diabetes, Endocrine and Lipid services of the Trust in both in-patient and outpatient settings. They will be working with the rest of the multi-professional Diabetes and Endocrinology team in a wide range of activities.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop specialist areas of interest allowing for subspecialisation within the Diabetes and Endocrinology department as possible and desired.
In addition the successful applicant may be asked to contribute to clinical sessions within the Emergency Assessment Unit managing acute medical admissions.

This post is based within the University Hospital of North Tees. Outpatient services are provided in the Outpatient departments in the University Hospitals of North Tees and of Hartlepool and other community settings within the catchment areas of Hartlepool and Easington
There will also be the opportunity for research experience within the diabetes programme. It is desired the successful candidate will help to consolidate a currently large insulin pump Service.
The appointee will be expected to take part in local postgraduate education activities (journal club, audit, clinical case presentation and teaching).
