We are opening our doors at Hartlepool Hospital on Saturday 22nd June between 10am and 2pm for you to explore our Orthopaedic Operating theatres and learn what the Trust has to offer.

Main duties of the job

Registered experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner, knowledge and experience of arthroplasty both primary hip and Knees and also revision surgery, elective hand surgery, hand trauma, foot and ankle, upper limb and spinal surgery. The practitioner would be responsible for ensuring an efficient and safe theatre environment, supporting junior members of the team, communicating with the theatre team and wider stakeholders, ensuring all equipment and implants are available prior to procedure and be an advocate for the patient during their time within the department. Develop skills supporting the implementation of the Zimmer rosa robot. Undertake necessary training and education to support the role and to enhance learning and development.

The expansion of services at Hartlepool Hospital is underway within theatres to expand our current capacity and ensure that we have a skilled workforce to support with the NHS England, Getting it Right First Time model. In order to further develop we are now recruiting experienced orthopaedic scrub practitioners. In return we can offer staff excellent work life balance, commitment to education and development of staff, progression opportunities, tailored education via our 2 dedicated theatre clinical educators, opportunity to further develop with Teesside University courses and modules, access to both internal and external training days/conferences.
