Job summary
Work as part of our dynamic Pharmacy Procurement Team, carrying out activities relating to the purchase of medicines in our buying office for our 3 Trust sites.
Critical role in making sure patients and service users get the medicines that they need, in a challenging environment.
Supporting initiatives to ensure best-value medicines are procured in our Trust.
Main duties of the job

- To process transactions, requisitions and orders onto the pharmacy computer system, for the order, purchase, receipt and invoicing of medicines (including homecare medicines, and maintenance of patient records and files). To use commercial web based ordering systems where available for entering orders.
- Assist in maintaining accurate medicine stock records and stock takes on the Pharmacy Computer System.
- Maintaining ordering and purchasing files and to ensure that they are accurate and up to date, including review of historical data and amendment of relevant contractual framework changes on a rolling basis, to ensure best value medicines are procured by the Trust.
- To assist in the preparation of written procedures for those aspects of work under the post holder's control.
- To ensure that written records are filed and stored according to procedures.
- To assist in preparing invoices for sale transactions.
- To cover for duties in relation to the processing of goods received.
- Any other duties which may be required in providing clerical support to the development of pharmaceutical services, such as completing month end absence and payroll returns, update and maintain an accurate filing system for Personal Files, ordering stationery via Cardea
- To support training of pharmacy staff in the office and buying systems and computer systems.
- Maintain ad-hoc databases and spreadsheets as necessary.
