Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised and CCAB qualified / part qualified person to join our Finance team at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

As Income Accountant, the successful candidate will report to the Income & Costing Lead and will co-ordinate the monitoring, forecasting, reconciling, and reporting of income associated with contracts, and non-contract income. We are seeking applications from individuals with good technical skills, an eye for detail, and the desire to meet the challenge of this role.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work flexibly.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure the accurate accounting of Trust income, working closely with the wider Contracting, Income and Costing team to obtain the necessary information to reconcile the Trust's income performance against contracts, highlighting variances, and identifying potential risks.
  • Support contract negotiation, and the annual planning process
  • Complete the income sections of the annual accounts and monthly NHSE returns
  • Co-ordinate the accounting, monitoring, forecasting and reconciliation of income associated with contracted and non-contracted clinical services
  • Ensure that the requirements for internal and external reporting are met and risks associated with contract performance are highlighted
