Job summary
The post holder will work closely with the BI and cancer services teams to support the Planning and Performance Directorate, Care Groups and Corporate Teams in meeting cancer compliance and performance objectives and standards, including priorities of the overall strategic plan, annual business plans and specific ad-hoc project(s)/ requests.
The post holder will work within a team and will assist in providing performance requirements, contributing to a number of capacity planning initiatives, assisting with analysis, investigation and resolution of complex statistical queries and supporting cancer service delivery.
The post holder will be responsible for development of appropriate performance management frameworks/ tools/ dashboards and reporting mechanisms, working across tumour specific groups to support delivery of all Trust cancer standards. The post holder will assist in analytical support for the BI team, cancer services team and across the Organisation.
The post holder will be responsible for analysing and identifying key breach themes supporting focus for pathway improvements as part of the Trusts overall Cancer Improvement Plan.
The post holder will support the production of Root Cause Analysis reports to allow clinical review and oversight of pathways to inform lessons learned.
The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination, validation and submission of the National Cancer Waiting Times Data Collection with support from the cancer services team.
Main duties of the job
- Monitoring of progress and analysing data against all cancer performance targets.
- Support the development and production of performance reports for use by Directors, Managers and the Board.
- Support the development and production of performance/statistical reports from the annual Cancer Quality Surveillance Programme and the tumour specific National Clinical Audits.
- Ability to manipulate data and provide appropriate reporting information to enable robust decision making and planning projects.
- Provide effective support to the performance management agenda and activities, assisting in the development of systems and processes within the Business Intelligence (BI) team, Care Groups and corporate teams.
- Assist the lead analyst to provide an information analysis and forecast service, highlighting key quality results and trends and areas for concern, detailing reasons for variance to assist and support directorates in decision making (Business intelligence).
- Work in close collaboration across all care groups and corporate services to support the BI agenda developing systems to help inform business intelligence, apply training of systems across the Organisation as relevant incorporating compliance, quality and workforce standards.
