Job summary
In joining our team as a specialist renal pharmacist, you will have the opportunity to become an expert in renal pharmacy providing exceptional care to a high acuity, highly complex patient cohort.
This role has been designed to provide additional pharmacy input into our dialysis and renal outpatient population, as well as to lead on some substantial medication cost saving projects.
There will be the opportunity to gain experience in all areas of renal pharmacy, with encouragement and support to develop knowledge, skills, experience and behaviour through mapping to the advanced pharmacy framework and renal expert professional practice curriculum.
Main duties of the job
Main Duties of the Job:
To operate as a specialist pharmacist in renal across the trust, supporting safe and effective use of medicines to improve patient safety
To lead on medication cost-savings projects identified within the renal care group
To lead on the service delivered to our haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis population
To effectively manage and supervise pharmacists working within the renal pharmacy team
To deputise for the lead pharmacist for renal at pharmacy and care group level when required

- Completion of Foundation Stage 1 of the Postgraduate Diploma in General Practice Pharmacy (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Postgraduate Diploma in General Practice Pharmacy i.e. completion of both Foundation Stage 1 and 2 (or equivalent)
- Training and accreditation as a Practice Supervisor and Educational Supervisor
