Senior Healthcare Support Worker for Maternity

Job summary
The Senior MCSW will undertake fundamental personal care duties including: bathing; toileting; and dressing; as well as care for neonate's personal needs. Supporting parents in the transition to their new family unit. This role includes supporting with infant feeding needs. The role also includes undertaking a limited range of delegated clinical skills care duties including: taking and recording patients' and neonatal vital observations, blood glucose monitoring of patient and neonate; observing patients for sign of agitation or distress, wound observations and simple wound dressings, removal of peripheral cannula, phlebotomy and removal of catheters. Senior MCSW working in maternity and neonatal environments, will be able to complete pregnancy testing, routine maternal and neonatal observations and clinical duties to enable the team to provide an effective and efficient service within the hospital setting.
