East Kent Hospital University Foundation Trust are now recruiting Band 3 Healthcare Support Workers for William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate and Kent & Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury.

The majority of positions are likely to be within our Surgical, Medical and Admission wards as well as the Emergency Department. Full-time and part-time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) are available but nursing is carried out 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year, so we do require full flexibility from you.

Main duties of the job

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Holds GCSE A-C or level 2 equivalent in Maths and English
  • Completed Care Certificate
  • Holds a level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent

Desirable

  • Knowledge of care and related procedures, skill in clinical observations, knowledge of relevant legislation; short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties, completion of a competency-based workbook

Clinical Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with people ideally in front line patient care
  • Basic computer/keyboard skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience as an HCSW in an acute hospital
