Speech and Language Therapy Assistant

Job summary

This role will provide vital support to our growing service and will include face-to-face work with patients and their families as well as administrative duties.

The desired candidate will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care to individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties following a stroke. You will be supported by our friendly SLT team to use up-to-date skills when implementing management plans and will have an important role in how people experience our services.

Main duties of the job

  • providing skilled, evidence-based care which adheres to agreed policies and procedures.
  • completing basic assessments under the supervision of the relevant registered clinician.
  • acting as patient advocates in the multi-disciplinary team.
  • supporting and implementing intervention programmes, therapy groups, care plans or directives overseen by the registered clinician.
  • Providing administrative support to produce and maintain resources
