Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the specialty of Ophthalmology for a Specialist Nurse. We are looking for an innovative forward-thinking nurse to work within our Trust wide service who wishes to grow their clinical and leadership skills within this specialty and have the opportunity to develop themselves in line with their personal development plan.
A key expectation of the role is for the senior nurse to work competently at an enhanced practice level providing care aligned to the four pillars of practice. It is envisaged that 100% of this role will be spent in the clinical area, as part of an agreed job plan.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work and develop further at an enhanced level of practice utilizing post graduate experience, knowledge and skills in Ophthalmology specialty. They will manage discrete aspects of a patient's care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, within their scope of practice, aligned to the four pillars of practice and aligned to Trust policy, 'Enhanced, Advanced and Consultant Level Practice- Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs),' contributing to nursing/midwifery/AHP practice which improves the quality of care to patients.
