Senior Occupational Therapist in Stroke

Job summary

Due to increased investment in stroke services we are expanding our team at EKHUFT. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapists with a passion for working in stroke services to support our Stroke Therapy Team and provide highly specialist service delivery for our patients.We take pride in the work we do to support people who have had a stroke to reach their full potential. The increased investment in our services has resulted in a substantial increase in our workforce which will enable us to deliver a holistic, forward-thinking service over seven days.We are a friendly, hard-working team who get together regularly for team meetings, clinical supervision and CPD. We provide high-quality therapy care across our stroke wards and within the trust, we are part of a wider Therapy team spread across three acute sites.This is an excellent opportunity to join a motivated and progressive stroke therapy service who are continuously striving towards best-practice care. We are passionate about providing high quality care for our patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Assist Therapy Team Leaders and Band 7 Therapy Team in the planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Therapy service provided to patients within stroke service on a day-to-day basis.
  • To manage a clinical caseload using evidence-based assessments, treatment and discharge planning to patients within the clinical speciality.
  • To work as part of an MDT and provide highly specialised therapy advice to members of the MDT.
  • To deputise for the Band 7 Occupational Therapist on clinical and managerial duties within the team.
  • To participate in 7-day services.
