Senior Healthcare Support Worker

Job summary

We are looking to recruit Band 3 Senior Health Care Support Workers for our busy and thriving Outpatients Departments, we have full and part time positions available across 6 sites: Buckland Hospital, Dover, Estuary House, Whitstable, Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, Royal Victoria Hospital, Folkestone and William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, all of which are part of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

Cross site working on other sites within EKHUFT will be required at times to enable us to meet service demands.

Outpatient services are growing and there has never been a better time to join our team and develop your career. We are looking for a friendly and dynamic individual with excellent communication and clinical skills to help ensure the delivery of a high quality, evidence based and cost effective Outpatient service for patients and their families.

For this Band 3 post 6 months experience as a Band 2 in an acute Hospital setting would be desirable , as would Outpatients experience however we also encourage applications from other healthcare providers or those looking for a new career.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must be enthusiastic, demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Your duties will be varied and will involve Chaperoning and supporting Gynaecology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Endocrine and general Medical clinics. Some IT skills will be needed

The department is both challenging and rewarding, with over 1600 patients a week attending clinics.

We will provide you with a structured Induction programme, a range of rotational opportunities to enable development of skills across patient pathways.

The candidate must be willing to continue with professional development and be aware of the Trusts' mission and values.
