The QEQM Coronary Care team provide care for critically ill patients on our Coronary Care Unit. Our unit is staffed by a dedicated and supportive team who pride themselves on their drive for innovation and the support and opportunities we offer to our staff.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is to work as a team member within the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) environment carrying out assigned tasks involving the direct/indirect care of patients in support of, and supervised by, a registered nurse.

  • participate in annual mandatory training.

  • Holds a level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care or has previous relevant/equivalent experience

  • NVQ Level3
  • Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, relevant legislation; short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties, completion of a competency based workbook

Experience

  • Recent clinical experience in an acute Trust
  • Delivery of evidence based practice

  • Previous experience at Band 3 within specialty
